How to use this journal

Nice Guys are uncomfortable with ambiguity. They like structure and clear boxes to tick, so that’s what this journal attempts to do.

The first section in the next few pages covers some key concepts about the Nice Guy Syndrome. If you have not read No More Mr. Nice Guy, or my book The Integrated Man, this will bring you up to speed with the big ideas.

Come back to the journal several times during the week, ideally every day. You do not need to spend more than 10 minutes a day. Attempt to have the weekly section fully completed by the end of a given week. Each month come back to The Wheel of Life: Monthly Self Assessment section and take stock.



The Weekly Deep Dive

Start your weekly journaling routine with the contemplation of the carefully crafted question. It is not a task to be rushed; instead, you are encouraged to engage with the question over the course of the week, allowing insights to unfold gradually.

Make Your Own Rules
Toward the end of his book No More Mr. Nice Guy, Dr. Robert Glover lays out 30 Rules for nice guys to try on for size. Each week we will review in the journal what you can do to live by one or more of these rules.

The last section of the weekly journal is to begin to build our capacity for recognizing and celebrating our wins, and taking self-accountability, without perfectionism or shame, for things we want to do better in the following week.

Most men usually come to this discovery because of a crises - a divorce, a break up, getting fired, frustration with their dating lives, addictive behaviours. Nice Guys have lived their entire lives through a false paradigm and changing this paradigm is hard work, a hero’s journey - one that is fraught with challenges. At the end of this long journey is the treasure of becoming an Integrated Man, who knows his purpose, is peaceful, and has learnt to meet his needs in a healthy way.

A coach, who has gone through his own Nice Guy journey, is a critical resource if a Nice Guy is to become an Integrate Man. The Nice Guy paradigm is full of blind spots and a lifetime of self limiting beliefs that only a coach can help bring into awareness and then offer the tools and accountability to challenge and change these beliefs. Together we will develop a plan of action to get you unstuck and move in the direction you want to go

Sidharth

I am obsessed with supporting men in recovering from their Nice Guy syndrome, and becoming integrated, emotionally and physically healthy, and getting on-purpose in their lives.

I have been a lifelong educator with a fierce passion to help kids and adults realise their full human potential. As a certified No More Mr. Nice Guy coach and a leadership development coach, I have led leadership workshops and retreats around the world. I bring a unique combination of modalities to my work which include Mindfulness, Co-active Coaching, Non-violent Communication, Radical Honesty, Conscious Leadership and Yoga. I also lead contemplative leadership journeys to the Everest Basecamp twice a year. I am an avid Vipassana meditator and have served and attended several 10-day silent meditation retreats over the last decade.
